We never share or sell your SMS opt-in. Mobile numbers and SMS opt-in data or consent are never shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes. See our Privacy Policy.
How people opt in
Opt-in happens on each auction's registration form. The form shows one unticked checkbox next to a clear statement. Registration can't be completed until the person ticks it. A Details link shows the full text of each consent.
After the form is submitted, we text a one-time code to the number entered. The consent is recorded only after the person confirms that code, together with the exact wording shown, the date and time, and the code confirmation.
Consent is not a condition of purchase. Nobody has to agree to receive texts to buy any goods or services.
The example on this page uses "Local Growth System" as the business running the auction. On a live auction, the statement names the real business.
Sample messages
Every message starts with "Nearbidly:". The first text we ever send to a number includes full opt-out instructions. Links point only to nearbidly.com.
- Nearbidly: Your code is 482913. It expires in 10 minutes. Didn't request it? Ignore this text. Reply STOP or DELETE to opt out.
- Nearbidly: You're registered for "6 Months of the Smart Website System" (closes Thu 12:00 PM ET). We'll text you if you're outbid. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.
- Nearbidly: You've been outbid on "6 Months of the Smart Website System". Top bid is now $420. Bid again: https://nearbidly.com/go/x7Q2k STOP to opt out

We also honor DELETE, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, REVOKE, OPTOUT and OPT OUT, and plain requests such as "please stop texting me." Opting out of Nearbidly Auction Alerts doesn't stop the business's own messages, and the reverse is also true: reply STOP to each sender.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Texts are available to US and Canadian mobile numbers.
